ROOT CANAL THERAPY
Endodontic or root canal therapy is performed to treat an infected dental pulp. The dental pulp is a soft tissue bundle in the center of the tooth that contains nerves and blood vessels.
When bacteria penetrate the enamel and dentin, it can infect or kill the dental pulp. Trauma can also damage the pulp. Instead of pulling out the tooth, your root canal dentist will remove bacteria and the diseased pulp, sanitize the area, and seal it off. Root canal thus save a tooth from extraction.
